Yaya’s Story
Yaya is a 70-year-old matriarch who carries the weight of her entire household on her shoulders. She is the sole provider for her two sons, who are unable to work due to health challenges, as well as her niece and her niece’s two young children. Despite her age and the many hardships she faces, Yaya continues to work tirelessly to ensure her family has food, shelter, and necessities.
Yaya’s life has been shaped by both loss and courage. When her sister tragically passed away, leaving her niece without a mother, Yaya stepped in immediately, embracing her niece as her own daughter. She has nurtured, guided, and protected her family for years, even as her own strength and resources are stretched to their limits.
Despite her determination, Yaya struggles every day to make ends meet. She worries constantly about the future and what will happen to her children and grandchildren when she is no longer able to provide for them. The weight of responsibility is immense, and without support, her family faces a precarious and uncertain future.
Donors can make a real, tangible difference in Yaya’s life and the lives of those she loves. Your contribution helps cover essential monthly expenses, including food, rent, and school supplies, and ensures this household can remain together, safe, and supported. Supporting Yaya is not just giving to one person – it is protecting a family, preserving hope, and empowering a woman who has spent her life giving everything she has for others.
By standing with Yaya, donors become part of a story of resilience, love, and dignity, helping a family not only survive but thrive.
